First steps leaves enough openings that knowing the rules is enough to win, while Standard balances attack and defence so wins and losses trade back and forth.
Hard reads combination attacks and counters, and Expert is the neural engine at full strength. Win without hints or take-backs to earn each level's first-win stamp, and a winning streak brings a suggestion to move up.
Hints, take-backs and loss review
With hints on you see the current win rate, and choosing a point first previews the expected win rate of that move. Tap the point again to place your stone.
Made a mistake? Take back a move and think it over again.
When the AI beats you, a review opens on its own and marks on the board the losing move and any win you missed.

Play the AI under the rule you like: Exact five, Renju, Freestyle, Caro, Swap2 or Renju with the official opening.

Is the Gomoku AI free?
Yes. Every level is free to play with no sign-up or install. Only Ranked, which keeps a rating, needs a Google sign-in to save it.
Which level should I start with?
If you are new to Gomoku, start with Easy. Move up a level when you win comfortably, and drop to First steps to learn the basic shapes if you keep losing.
How strong is the Expert AI?
Expert is the neural engine playing without limits, and it wins most games. Try it once you win steadily at Hard.
