One move at a time,
to farther places.

Solve short Gomoku challenges and face the boss at the end of each region’s stone path.

Single-player Gomoku: 100 adventure stages

Adventure mode is a single-player Gomoku game against AI opponents. Travel through 10 regions and 100 stages, from the Little Courtyard to the Hall of Tengen, and face the boss waiting at the end of each region. It is free and runs in your desktop or mobile browser with nothing to install.

Progress is saved to your Google account, so you can continue on another device. There are no hints: you read every move yourself, which makes it a proving ground for the winning ideas the AI coach teaches in regular play.

Four kinds of stages

One-move task
Short tasks settled in a single move: find the winning point, the point you must block, or the point that threatens twice at once.
Puzzle
Keep making fours your opponent is forced to answer (a VCF, victory by continuous fours) until you complete five. From the fourth region on, some puzzles also attack with threes that become an open four if left alone (a VCT). Later puzzles need longer sequences, and each one is verified to win against every defense.
Elite match
From the second region on, elite matches are real games against an AI opponent, played out from a position where you are slightly ahead. No forced win is prepared in advance. If a game does not go your way, you can choose a weaker opponent for the next one, and beating it still opens the next stage.
Region boss
The tenth stage of a region is a boss played over several phases. From the second region on, the last phase is a real game against that boss.

Learn to win at Gomoku, one goal at a time

Every one-move task sets one of four goals. Each is a decision that settles real games.

Make five in a row to win.
Recognize open fours, fours blocked on one side and fours with a gap, and find the point that completes five.
Block your opponent's next winning move.
Take the point where your opponent would make five on the next move, before they do. It trains you to see when defense must come before attack.
Create two winning points for your next move.
Create two winning points with one move and your opponent can only block one of them. This double threat is the heart of winning shapes such as the four-three.
Prevent your opponent from creating two winning threats.
Find the point where your opponent could create two winning threats with one move, and take it first.

Frequently asked questions

Is adventure mode free?

Yes. All 100 stages are free to play and there is no app to install; it runs in your browser.

Do I need to sign in?

The adventure that saves your progress starts with a Google account, and the same account continues on desktop or phone. Stages opened from a shared challenge link can be played without signing in.

Can beginners play?

The first region starts with tasks that complete five in one move. If the rules are new to you, read the rules and tactics guide first and practice with the AI coach in regular play.

Are there hints?

Adventure mode has no hints. If you fail, you can retry the same stage, and after a game does not go your way you can choose a weaker opponent.

Which rules are used?

Freestyle Gomoku on a 15×15 board: five or more in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally wins, and neither color has forbidden moves.
